Adventist Athletics Club Bulawayo: Fitness for Witnessing

Based in the vibrant City of Kings and Queens, the Adventist Athletics Club (AAC) Bulawayo is more than just a sports team—it is a community-driven movement. We are a dynamic branch of the global Adventist Athletics family, dedicated to the holistic development of the human spirit, mind, and body.
Our identity is rooted in our powerful motto: “Fitness for Witnessing.” We believe that a healthy, energized body is the best vessel for sharing hope and service with the world.

An Inclusive Community for All

  • At AAC Bulawayo, our finish line is open to everyone. We pride ourselves on being a diverse and inclusive club:
  • All Faiths Welcome: While we are guided by Adventist values, we warmly welcome non-Adventist members. We believe health is a universal gift and a bridge that brings the community together.
  • All Generations: From toddlers and youth discovering the joy of movement to seniors maintaining their vitality, our programs are designed to be age-appropriate and supportive for every stage of life.

Beyond the Pavement: Our Diverse Sports

We recognize that wellness isn’t “one size fits all.” While running is at our core, the Bulawayo branch has expanded into a multidisciplinary sports hub:

  • Running & Walking: From 5km “fun runs” to ultra-marathons and brisk community walks.
  • Cycling: Group rides that explore the outskirts of Bulawayo, promoting endurance and heart health.
  • Swimming: Low-impact training and recovery sessions in the pool.
  • Hiking: Connecting with nature and each other through the scenic trails of Matabeleland.

Our Four Pillars in Action

We don’t just train; we transform. We actively live out our mission through:
1. Health: Combatting lifestyle diseases through regular training and fitness education.
2. Evangelism: Using our presence at local races to distribute life-changing literature and offer a positive witness.
3. Fellowship: Building a green and Gold family that supports one another through mentorship and social gatherings.
4. Community Service: Engaging in school visits, charity drives, and environmental “plogging” (cleaning while jogging).
