The Adventist Athletics Club in Zimbabwe has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in May 2017. The Harare Chapter was established first then Victoria Falls and lately Chitungwiza. The Adventist Athletics Club in Zimbabwe is duly registered in terms of the laws of its country and accredited to NAAZ the athletics governing body under the Ministry of Sport Arts Recreation and Culture.
Through the last 3 years, Fun Runs, Half Marathons, Health Expos, and Inreach programs were held successfully to launch the club. These activities have seen the number of membership registrations grow. Driven by the moto Maranatha Jesus is Coming Again the evangelistic thrust has permeated through Adventist Athletics Club’s involvement with the communities through its activities. The Adventist Athletics Club brand has been carried loud and visible in all public events through the fielding of a good number of participants nationally, regionally, and internationally. Indeed the message is resounding to all that come into contact with the brand.
Adventist Athletics Club is led by an executive that is elected once every year and drives the mission of the club in line with its vision. New members are always welcome right throughout the year. All it takes is to visit our Facebook page and learn how to subscribe to become a member and that’s it! You are automatically added to the training groups and chat platforms.
Regular training for members is scheduled periodically to include walking, running, cycling, hiking, and swimming activities. Boot camps are also a favourite for members seeking to build their physical strength and stamina.
For all this hard work, once at the end of every year members with outstanding performances (podium finishes), consistency, biggest weight loser, and many other categories are acknowledged and recognized with prestigious awards. The sponsors who support all events and provide financial and material support are also acknowledged and awarded.
The spirit of Adventist Athletics Club is in Zimbabwe to stay with more chapters to be opened in other provinces of the country.
